In light of our present financial crisis, it's interesting to read what

Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:

the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and
corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all
property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers

Fecal material is about to interface with a very large propeller.  I suggest you all pay off as much of your bills on tangible items as possible.  Your home and car should be free of  debt if you can pull it off.  

I think too many people got greedy.   When the price of a home triples in a year, stop and think for a minute.  The banks were loaning money to people that could not possibly pay back the loan, on houses that were worth less than half  of what it was selling for.    The Government will pick up the bill!  Hey people.  We are a government of the people.  Guess who is picking up the tab.  The people you choose to run the country will determine how much of your paycheck you get to keep.  I'm retired.  My kids aren't.  I really worry about what we as a country have done.  My kids are working for a living, supporting those who don't work.  Obama, God help us, is about to spend another Trillion dollars to make things better.  I can't even comprehend a Trillion.  It's like a light year.  I'll never forget the lady being interviewed about how she feels Obama will do as president.  She could hardly contain herself.  "Now I won't have to work to pay my mortgage, or car payment."  God help us,  that is the way too many of our upstanding citizens feel.  No need to work, the GOVERNMENT will take care of us.  Our Constitution has ceased to exist.
Be watching for camel jockeys and blue helmets coming down the road.  Make sure you have a couple of sacks of beans put away and water.  If you have room, a supply of toilet paper is a good idea.  Old phone books will work too.

MORE PT

I wonder how many of us out there are setting up food storage and making sure you have enough fire arms and ammo to hold off a small army. You might even be able to tie off a ruptured artery and take care of injuries. I bet there are a lot of us . What would happen if you had to run for a mile, or walk 20. Are you physically fit. I look around and see a lot of white chickens and every now and then I pass a mirror and see another one. If I had to run 10 feet, I would probably puke my guts out. I am starting to do something about that. I am shooting for my DROS  weight plus 10 pounds by this fall. I came out of the Army a very fit 185 pounds and wouldn't feel bad at 195. Time to get in shape. You would be no good to any Militia wheezing and puking your guts out.

This is some inspirational stuff that I have gleaned off the web. I hope at least some of it gets to you like it does to me. The War poetry is pretty heavy, more so if that was your time. I will add to this in the future.

Oath Keepers

This link to Oath Keepers could be the most important link on the page.  Oath Keepers are not a militia.  They are Military, active and reserve.  They are Law Enforcment, Fire Fighters, and Veterans.  Anyone that took the oath and      honoring it.  Every person that has been elected to public office took the oath, to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.  Guess who's not an oath keeper.   If Oath Keepers are nothing more than a visible block of voters, they are a good group .
